MEDIC / PARAMEDIC OFfshore Position

Reports to: Operations Manager

Medic/Paramedic is responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant operation of assigned area. Employee must meet and fulfill all the qualifications, requirements, functions and responsibilities of an offshore paramedic with key job responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Working on drilling and production platforms in offshore environments.

2. Commuting long distances in vehicle.

3. Commuting to offshore platforms from land via helicopter or crew boat.

4. Transferring on a personnel basket or rope swing from vessel to platform on an occasional basis.

5. Having the ability to think and react quickly and appropriately in stressful situations.

6. Having excellent knowledge of common physical illnesses, minor and acute emergencies, and the symptoms of each.

7. Conducting administrative duties to include logistics coordination, telephone communication, clerical duties, and various computer tasks.

8. Communicating clearly at all times.

9. Administering first aid and medical care (basic, intermediate and advanced patient care) within the limits of licensure or certification and in accordance with approved protocols.

10. Completing all patient documentation and forms as required by the company.

11. Conducting regular inventory and equipment testing to insure all equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order on the offshore platform.

12. Ordering supplies and equipment as per AIS guidelines.

13. Documenting and reporting all needed supplies and repairs of medical equipment for proper job performance.

14. Completing all required company reports and logs.

15. Following all regulation and guidelines of AIS, MMS, USCG and contractor.

Qualifications:
•  Completion of High School education with successful graduation or Graduation Equivalency Diploma
•  Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic by a certification body requiring DOTD course compliance
•  Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider
•  Certification as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider by the American Heart Association

Upon hire, the employee will be expected to:
•  Successfully complete a Water Survival Training course
•  Successfully complete SafeGulf and certification
•  Successfully complete an Acadian Clinical Extension course; Medic First-Aid Instructor certification.

Requirements:
Minimum 1 year working experience in ALS as a Paramedic.
