Back Safety Course Length: 2 hours
CFR Reference: OSHA Act sec (5)
Overview: This course is knowledge and performance based training that is designed to provide employee training and education on proper back care and proper lifting techniques for total back safety.
Course Required by: OSHA
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this training the student will be familiar with: • The back and how it functions in simple terms • Ergonomics • Body mechanics, posture and habits that can lead to back injuries • Incorporating exercise into work and home habits. • Education and lifestyle changes that will help prevent back injuries
Written Exam: SMS requires a minimum score of 70%. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course. Student shall be required to demonstrate proper lifting techniques.
Retraining: None specified, but SMS would recommend annual refresher. → Back to course listing
