Rig Pass Test-Out
Overview: The Rig Pass Test-Out course is designed to provide new employees with a basic orientation of rig operations and safe work practices. After completion of the course, new employees should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of government agencies and regulations applicable to the work site, incident and environmental protection reporting procedures, general safety policies applicable to the work site, service contractor/customer working relationships and the employee's responsibilities. The SMS training center is accredited by the IADC.

Course Objectives: “Test-Out” option. The test provided under “Test-Out” is to help assure a new employee has adequate training and knowledge from training already provided that complies with the IADC HSE Rig Pass Criteria. SRI maintains a test bank of over 500 questions with 4 different student tests which consist of 100 questions each. Students must have at least 6 months of oilfield experience and make a score of 90% to pass one of the four 100 question tests. Students who fail to pass the HSE Rig Pass “test-out option test” must take the full HSE Rig Pass training program.
Written Exam: SMS requires a minimum score of 90%. Incorrectly answered questions will be reviewed with student to ensure understanding before completion of course.
